Francisco Hernandez to the Associate Minister of Transport: What procurement process, if any, was used for purchasing artificial intelligence tools, if any, currently being used within the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any?

Hon James Meager: I am advised that the CAA has undertaken one direct source procurement for an artificial intelligence (AI) proof-of-concept project. The CAA has also purchased a limited number of Microsoft Copilot licences for a product trial through its existing contractual and licensing arrangements with Microsoft.
