34196 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Prime Minister: How many roles, if any, in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, have been replaced by AI services, since 1 January 2025?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency is a departmental agency hosted by DPMC. I am advised that no roles in DPMC or NEMA have been replaced by AI services since 1 January 2025. Neither DPMC nor NEMA use AI profiling and/or facial recognition.
