Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Sport and Recreation: What procurement process, if any, was used for purchasing artificial intelligence tools, if any, currently being used within the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any?

Hon Mark Mitchell: Copilot licenses were purchased as part of the DIA Marketplace Microsoft licensing and provisioning arrangements. It was direct sourced via licensing agent due to the embedded security and efficiency features enabling opportunities across Sport NZ’s Microsoft and Sharepoint environment. No other standalone AI tools are approved for use by Sport NZ officials.
