34182 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Local Government: What automated approvals, if any, are currently operating within the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any?

Hon Simon Watts: The Water Services Authority – Taumata Arowai advises that, while automation is used to support approval processes, decision-making is completed manually. There are no automated approval systems currently operating within the Local Government portfolio. All approvals, including payment approvals, require a human decision.
