Francisco Hernandez to the Prime Minister: What procurement process, if any, was used for purchasing artificial intelligence tools, if any, currently being used within the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). I am advised that DPMC has procured its artificial intelligence tools using its shared service provider Central Agency Shared Services (CASS), a unit based in The Treasury, and also through a direct source approach.
