34123 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations: What items of secondary legislation, if any, listed by title, are administered by the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any?
Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised there are four items of secondary legislation under the Ngā Rohe Moana o Ngā Hapū o Ngāti Porou Act 2019 administered by Te Tari Whakatau. One item of secondary legislation is published as an Order in Council administered by Te Tari Whakatau for which the Minister Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations is responsible: •Ngā Rohe Moana o Ngā Hapū o Ngāti Porou (Recognition of Customary Marine Title) Order 2020. Three items of secondary legislation are public notices administered by Te Tari Whakatau for which the Minister for Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations is responsible: •A notice under section 96(1) of a protected customary activity agreement. •A notice under section 103(1) of the recognition of a wāhi tapu or wāhi tapu area. •A notice under section 105(1) of the variation or cancellation of the recognition of a wāhi tapu or wāhi tapu area.
