34118 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Land Information: How, if at all, is AI profiling and/or facial recognition used in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any?

Hon Chris Penk: Land Information New Zealand does not use AI profiling. Land Information New Zealand does not use facial recognition in any public facing or mandatory services. Land Information New Zealand does allow facial recognition (as a standard biometric access option) for our people to authenticate and access our managed laptops.
