34116 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Revenue: What automated approvals, if any, are currently operating within the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any?

Hon Simon Watts: Inland Revenue officials advise automated approvals currently operate in every significant enabling software application in use within Inland Revenue, based on preset business rules. This includes tax and social policy administration software (START), security operations and productivity tools. All business rules require human oversight from officials.
