34101 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Māori Development: What procurement process, if any, was used for purchasing artificial intelligence tools, if any, currently being used within the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any?

Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised by Te Puni Kōkiri that it has not undertaken a separate or new procurement process for artificial intelligence tools. The artificial intelligence tools currently in use — Microsoft Copilot Chat, Microsoft Copilot 365, and Microsoft Security Copilot — have been acquired as licences under the MCSSA (Microsoft Cloud, Software and Services Agreement) negotiated by the GDDA (Government Digital Delivery Agency).
