34100 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Infrastructure: How, if at all, is AI profiling and/or facial recognition used in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any?

Hon Chris Bishop: For the Treasury, I refer the Member to the answer to Written Question 34064 (2025). The Infrastructure Commission does not use AI profiling and/or facial recognition. Crown Infrastructure Delivery and National Infrastructure Funding and Financing both use facial recognition as an authentication method on company laptops and mobile phones. Biometric data is stored locally on the device(s) and is encrypted. AI is not used for any profiling or wider facial recognition.
