34088 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Housing: How, if at all, is AI profiling and/or facial recognition used in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any?

Hon Chris Bishop: Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga – Ministry of Housing and Urban Development is not using profiling or facial recognition services powered by Artificial Intelligence. Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that it is not using AI profiling. However, it does use facial recognition for staff to login to their work devices (phones and laptops).
