34071 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Finance: What algorithm impact assessments, if any, have been done in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, since 27 November 2023?

Hon Nicola Willis: I am advised Treasury has not conducted any agency-wide algorithm impact assessments. While no central assessment has been completed, individual teams may have independently undertaken assessments of algorithms used within their areas of responsibility. I am further advised RBNZ has assessed models for functional and quality suitability on a case-by-case basis. The RBNZ has also compared model output with manually-generated output for the same inputs and desired outcome.
