34042 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Corrections: What algorithm impact assessments, if any, have been done in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, since 27 November 2023?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that no algorithm impact assessments have been completed by Corrections since 27 November 2023. I am further advised that Corrections is a signatory to the Algorithm Charter for Aotearoa New Zealand, and consideration of algorithmic impacts will be incorporated into Corrections’ assessment and governance process for artificial intelligence use cases which is currently under development.
