34012 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Children: How, if at all, is AI profiling and/or facial recognition used in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised that Oranga Tamariki does not use AI profiling and/or facial recognition for profiling. I am further advised that staff can opt in to use biometrics logon (facial recognition) for their Ministry-supplied laptops and phones.
