33988 (2026). Mike Davidson to the Minister for the South Island: Has the Minister received a formal request/s from Christchurch City Council (CCC) and/or the Mayor of Christchurch in 2026 to meet with the governing body of CCC and/or CCC, and if so, when did he receive the request/s and has he formally met with the governing body of CCC and/or CCC in response to the request/s, and if not, why not?

Hon James Meager: In 2026, I received two invitations from Christchurch City Council and/or the Mayor of Christchurch. The first was on 12 March 2026, when I was copied into letter regarding a request for a meeting with Hon Nicola Willis and Hon Paul Goldsmith. The second was on 13 July 2026, when all Canterbury MPs and Canterbury candidates were invited to attend a breakfast hosted by the Council. Due to prior diary commitments, I was unable to attend.
