33941 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Conservation: How many items of secondary legislation, if any, are administered by the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any?

Hon Tama Potaka: The Department of Conservation advises me that approximately 302 items of in force secondary legislation are administered by the Department of Conservation and agencies, crown entities or other bodies that the Minister of Conservation is responsible for (“DOC administered secondary legislation”). This number is approximate because, while the Department has made reasonable efforts to identify all DOC administered secondary legislation in force, they have no automated system for calculating the number of items of DOC administered secondary legislation at any given time. The Department is dependent upon manual collation and reconciliation from various sources.
