33920 (2026). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister responsible for Ministerial Services: What is the policy governing the use of Crown VIP vehicles for party political or campaign purposes, and when was it last reviewed?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: The Ministers Travel Services within New Zealand Determination 2023 determines the use of Crown VIP vehicles. Clause 2.1 states that a Minister may use a chauffeur-driven car arranged by VIP Transport at any time for any purpose, at the Ministers discretion. This determination came into force on 15 October 2023 and is currently being reviewed as required under the Parliament Act 2025.
