33896 (2025). Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister of Conservation: Did he give the Department of Conservation a deadline or timeframe for clearing its permission backlog and if so, what were his instructions?

Hon Tama Potaka: Following discussion with the Department of Conservation, I directed the Department of Conservation on 28 February 2025 to close 248 applications that were more than a year old by 1 June 2025, and to close all 1,160 pending applications as at 28 February by 31 March 2026.
