33894 (2025). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Corrections: How many prison manager roles (if any) are being discharged by people who are not permanent appointments to the role (e.g. "acting" managers)?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that where a General Manager is on leave, the role is substantively vacant, or when the substantive role holder of the General Manager position is on secondment to another role, the person covering this role is considered to be acting.
I am further advised that as at the date of this response, at the 17 prisons managed by Corrections, six General Manager roles are currently filled by people who are acting in the General Manager position. I am advised that three of these are due to the General Manager being on annual leave.
