33574 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Further to his reply to Question 29614 (2025), will he ask NZTA to record the number of road cones removed from project sites as a result of public complaints to the road cone hotline and if not, why not?

Hon Chris Bishop: I do not intend to require NZTA to hold a record of the number of road cones removed. NZTA advise me that if the road cones at a site are used consistent with the risk-based approach to temporary traffic management (TTM) and the traffic management on site is as per the approved traffic management plan, then no further action will be required. Where contractors find that road cones are not needed to ensure safe traffic management at a site, the cones will be removed.
