33553 (2025). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: Is the reduction of the use of road cones one of the measures of success of WorkSafe’s road cone hotline pilot and if so, how will this be measured?

Hon Brooke van Velden: The objective of the pilot is for WorkSafe New Zealand to establish a digital hotline that allows members of the public to report excessive road cone usage. I will consider the pilot to be successful if WorkSafe is perceived to play a useful and constructive role in issuing risk-proportionate guidance.
