33477 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Which Roads of National Significance in the future (unscheduled) phase of the July 2026 Major Transport Projects Pipeline, if any, does NZTA intend to retain, allow to lapse, or withdraw existing notices of requirement or designations for, and what is the intended treatment of each?

Hon Chris Bishop: NZTA is currently in the process of withdrawing its Notice of Requirement for a designation of land for the East West Link project, which was lodged with the Environmental Protection Authority in 2016. For the remaining RoNS projects that already have notice of requirements or designations in place NZTA intends to keep these in place to protect the intended routes for future delivery.
