33459 (2025). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Justice: Did Police feedback on the citizen’s arrest powers result in any changes to the powers?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: As the Member will be aware, the Government has committed to amending the Crimes Act so that citizens can intervene to stop any Crimes Act offence at any time of the day. Legislation giving effect to this is forthcoming, and therefore, no changes to the powers have yet been made.
