33395 (2025). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: How will the move of mental health functions to the Public Health Agency affect public services, if at all; what measures are there to ensure that services are consistent, if at all?

Hon Matt Doocey: Most of the Ministry of Health’s mental health functions will move into the Public Health Agency. This move reinforces the existing strong synergies and established relationships between mental health and public health groups. There are no intended changes to services and the number of staff working in mental health is unchanged.
