33132 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Transport: How many deputy chief executive or equivalent roles, if any, are in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, and what is the total number of employees in these departments, agencies, crown entities or any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that at the Ministry of Transport there are five Deputy Chief Executive or equivalent roles. As at 8 July 2025 I am advised there are 216 FTE employees at the Ministry of Transport. I am advised by the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) that it has 8 Group General Manager roles which are all broadly equivalent to Deputy Chief Executive roles. As at 30 June 2025, I am advised that NZTA had 2,890 employees including those who are employed fixed term.
