33092 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for the Environment: How many deputy chief executive or equivalent roles, if any, are in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, and what is the total number of employees in these departments, agencies, crown entities or any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for?
Hon Penny Simmonds: I am advised that the Ministry currently employs six deputy chief executive or equivalent roles, and as of 7 July 2025, the number of employees at the Ministry was 780. This number does not include contractors and staff seconded into the Ministry.
The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) has six roles equivalent to deputy chief executives. As at 30 June 2025, the EPA had 222 employees.
