Hon Erica Stanford: As at 30 June 2025, the Ministry of Education had nine roles identified as deputy chief executive or equivalent roles, and a total full time equivalent (FTE) of 3,834.9 (headcount of 4,084). The New Zealand Qualifications Authority had five deputy chief executive roles and a total FTE of 460.38. Education New Zealand had three group general manger roles which are the equivalent of a deputy chief executive and a total FTE of 84. The Education Review Office (ERO) had five deputy chief executive roles and a total establishment of 245 staff. In addition, ERO’s Corporate Services provides service to the Independent Children’s Monitor who employ 60 staff.
