Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Customs: How many deputy chief executive or equivalent roles, if any, are in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, and what is the total number of employees in these departments, agencies, crown entities or any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that as at 30 June 2025, the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) has four Deputy Chief Executive or equivalent roles. As at 30 June 2025, the most recent reporting period, Customs employed 1,439 staff.
