33065 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Agriculture: How many deputy chief executive or equivalent roles, if any, are in the Minister's departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, and what is the total number of employees in these departments, agencies, crown entities or any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for?

Hon Todd McClay: I am advised that MPI has 3449.7 FTE as at 30 June 2025. There are ten Deputy Director-General positions, one of which is based in China to promote MPI’s interests with one of New Zealand’s most significant trading partners.
