33041 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Local Government: Is the Waikato region being considered for a future round of Regional Deals, and if so, when might this be reviewed?

Hon Simon Watts: The Government intends to progress further City and Regional Deals (Deals) across the country, with a process for future Deals to be announced in due course. The Waikato region, along with all other regions, has demonstrated potential to advance and contribute to a regional deal. The selection of those regions to progress to a future round of Deals is yet to be determined.
