33040 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Local Government: What advice or feedback is provided to councils whose proposals are unsuccessful under the Regional Deals scheme, if any?

Hon Simon Watts: Representatives will be in touch to provide feedback on each proposal and outline next steps for the programme. City and Regional Deals (Deals) are meant to be long-term over a 30-year period, so there is plenty of opportunity to expand on the proposals provided by the regions. The Government plans to progress additional Deals in the future for regions not included in phase one.
