33025 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: How many, if any, state house tenants were notified in each month of 2025/26 that the house they were living in was going to be sold?

Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that it does not centrally record this information in a way that allows it to respond to this question. Where a Kāinga Ora property identified for sale is occupied, Kāinga Ora works directly with the tenant to relocate them to another suitable Kāinga Ora home that meets their housing needs. Properties selected for sale are generally those that no longer meet current or future social housing requirements, with sale proceeds reinvested in new or upgraded social housing stock.
