32983 (2025). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister for Infrastructure: Further to WPQ 27180 (2025) What steps, if any, has the Government taken to ensure that Te Tari Whakatau, Te Puni Kokiri and the Ministry for the Environment are adequately resourced to engage with and reflect Māori perspectives beyond those of settled Treaty entities in relation to the Fast-track Approvals Act 2024?
Hon Chris Bishop: Cabinet agreed that the Fast-track Approvals system would be a user-pays system, where central and local government are not required to subsidise the costs of processing applications. Since Te Tari Whakatau, Te Puni Kokiri and the Ministry for the Environment can recover their costs for work related to the FTAA, they can ensure they are sufficiently resourced to carry out their functions.
