32955 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Has the Minister received any correspondence regarding the future of the Health Quality and Safety Commission (HQSC) and if so, on what dates?

Hon Simeon Brown: Since becoming Minister of Health. I have received a range of communications from a variety of sources that support our Government's focus on putting patients first and delivering access to timely, quality healthcare for all New Zealanders. Correspondence I have received is not categorised by topic. Accordingly, the information requested is not available in an easily reportable format. It would not be a good use of taxpayer-funded staff’s time - including those employed by the Ministry of Health and Health New Zealand who work in my office - to collate and organise by topic a list of all correspondence received. It would not be in the public interest to do so.
