32813 (2026). Scott Willis to the Minister of Transport: What plans, if any, does the Minister have to develop a permitting system for agricultural machines that fail to meet current Vehicle Dimension and Mass (VDAM) rules?

Hon Chris Bishop: The Government has a review of the Vehicle Dimensions and Mass (VDAM) Rule underway as part of its Land Transport Rule Reform Programme. While the review is not specifically focused on agricultural vehicles, these vehicles may benefit from changes that are being considered to reduce regulatory burden by streamlining requirements and processes.
