32647 (2025). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: If it is improper for the Minister to present in favour or against any particular pay equity claim, as the Minister stated during the scrutiny hearing, is it also improper for that Minister to cancel existing claims?

Hon Brooke van Velden: No. This was required to give people clarity about the system by providing one process for raising and resolving pay equity claims. It is important that everyone is on the same playing field from the start, rather than allowing for two systems to operate at the same time for a period.
