Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that the Ministry of Social Development is unable to provide the number of Kāinga Ora state house tenants paying market rent that have had their tenancy reviewed since November 2023, or how many of these clients had their tenancy ended, as this information is not centrally recorded. Providing the Member with the data requested would require substantial collation and engagement and divert Ministry of Social Development staff from their core duties. In accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 210/6, that the time, and hence the expense, of answering the Member’s question is not in the public interest.
