32284 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: Has WorkSafe collaborated with NZTA in the analysis or reporting of the road cone hotline data, and if so, what was the nature of that collaboration, including any data-sharing agreements, joint reporting mechanisms, or coordinated public communications?
Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised that WorkSafe New Zealand engaged with NZTA to support the design and establishment of the road cone hotline pilot. WorkSafe continue to share information so NZTA can prepare its own processes and staff to receive notifications from the hotline in relation to state highways. WorkSafe has also shared weekly reports on numbers of notifications. This information is publicly available on its website. WorkSafe is working closely with NZTA (and other Road Controlling Authorities) to establish follow-up reporting over the course of the pilot so it can gather the results of responses both in the regions and on notifications for state highways.
