32269 (2025). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: Is the Minister confident that all fifteen proposed online gambling licenses will be taken up?

Hon Brooke van Velden: The online gambling regime enables the Secretary for Internal Affairs to grant up to 15 licences. Some licences may remain unallocated or allocated in a future process where appropriate. Companies applying for a licence must meet certain criteria before a licence can be granted. There are currently more than 15 operators reporting earnings and paying both GST to Inland Revenue.
