32266 (2025). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What is the total amount, if any, that has been appropriated for launching the licensing process as part of the Department of Internal Affairs’ online gambling implementation?

Hon Brooke van Velden: The total cost of establishing the online gambling regulatory scheme (the scheme), including any associated technology investment, is up to $20 million. It will be fully cost-recovered from licensed online gambling operators. This funding includes running the licensing process, developing the operating model for the scheme, and raising public awareness of the scheme.
