32246 (2025). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: What is police’s estimate of the number of additional police, over and above attrition, that will be deployed per month over the next twelve months?

Hon Mark Mitchell: It is not possible to provide an estimate of the number of additional constables over the next 12 months as this is highly dependent on the application pipeline, attrition, and the pass rate at the Royal New Zealand Police College (RNZPC). However, I am advised that as at 23 June 2025, Police has 341 recruits in training at the RNZPC, who are expected to be deployed to districts between June and October 2025. This is also my response to Written Parliamentary Question 32693 (2025).
