32239 (2025). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: When did he agree to performance measures suggested by police and are there any that police suggested that he altered?

Hon Mark Mitchell: During the Budget process, Police suggested changes to performance measures based on population and demand growth, which I agreed to. As the Member will be aware, in the last six years particularly demand for policing services outstripped the level of investment by Government into core policing services - something that this Government is addressing. I am assured that there will be no material reduction in the level or standard of service Police provides as a result of changes to performance measures. The changes, the first to these measures in many years, reflect the exponential growth in demand and the capability - after six years of underinvestment - to address that demand.
