32238 (2025). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police

32238 (2025). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: What analysis supported the change to the 111 call performance threshold?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that for the 2024/2025 budget period, Police expected to provide services to between 900,000 and 950,000 111 callers. However, under the new standard, Police are now expecting to provide services to at least 900,000 111 callers.
Please note that, following advice from Police’s external auditors, the budget standard was revised to replace the range with the words ‘at least’. This was a response to the fact that if Police provided services to 950,001 111 callers, theoretically the standard would not be met.
This change also reflects the fact that, based on actual incoming call volumes over several years, Police expects to provide service to at least 900,000 111 callers in 2024/25 and in subsequent years.
There has been no reduction in service level.
