32231 (2025). Tamatha Paul to the Minister of Justice: What written advice, by title and date, has the Minister received in relation to reinstating the prisoner voting ban?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I refer the Member to the Ministry of Justice proactive release, Prisoner voting, as published on the Ministry of Justice website, here: www.justice.govt.nz/assets/Documents/Publications/Proactive-Release-Prisoner-Voting_FINAL.pdf Following that proactive release, I have since received three further papers in relation to the reinstatement of a prisoner voting disqualification, which I intend to proactively release shortly, following the introduction of the relevant bill.
