32220 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: How much, if any, does the NZ Transport Agency expect to spend on the Cross Valley Link over the remainder of the 2024-27 National Land Transport Programme period, broken down by cost category?

Hon Chris Bishop: While I recognise there is significant public interest following my announcement of the Major Transport Projects Pipeline on 9 July 2026, responding to the information sought across a total of 653 questions (32220 (2026) to 32877 (2026)), received on 17 July 2026, would require substantial collation, review, and processing. This would divert officials from their core duties. In accordance with Speakers’ Rulings 210/6, I consider that the time and expense involved would not be in the public interest and would not represent an efficient or proportionate use of officials’ resources. Many of the matters raised relate to operational information held by NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, which is best placed to respond to requests for detailed project information through the appropriate channels, for example under the Official Information Act 1982.
