32183 (2025). Rachel Boyack to the Minister for Racing: What advice, if any, has the Minister received regarding the rehoming of Greyhounds from New Zealand to Australia for racing purposes?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: The Minister for Racing received the interim report of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on 29 May 2025. The interim report contains advice regarding all aspects of transitioning the greyhound racing industry to closure. Further information from the Department of Internal Affairs regarding the interim report was received on 5 June 2025. The Minister for Racing is currently considering these issues and once Cabinet has made decisions, public announcements will be made.
