32168 (2025). Ingrid Leary to the Associate Minister of Health: What percentage increase in funding was allocated to the provider arm to enable Health New Zealand to meet the higher pay rates, following the settlement of the pay equity claim that included Mental Health Assistants; was this increase greater than 3%

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that under the final nursing pay equity settlement of June 2023, mental health assistants received a 12.6% increase above their March 2022 salary rate. This was added in full to all internal staffing budgets as a permanent uplift to base salaries and time-based overheads, including KiwiSaver and overtime.
