32160 (2025). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: What is the expected caseload (daily, weekly, monthly) for Psychiatrists employed by Health NZ (excluding independent contractors), and performance data against these expectations, broken down by district?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that there are no defined expectations of caseload for psychiatrists employed by Health New Zealand. Caseloads vary depending on the nature and size of the service, the individual needs of the people that access the service and the size of the team that the psychiatrists work within. I am further advised that caseloads do not represent all aspects of a psychiatrists work.
