32140 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: How many, if any, vacant state homes are part of the 212 state housing projects Kāinga Ora has decided to cancel and where is each such vacant home?

Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that as at 31 May 2025, 212 cancelled projects include 588 social houses in their managed stock. Of these, 413 houses are occupied and 175 houses are vacant. Kāinga Ora are working through options for their future use. For a regional breakdown, I refer the Member to the attached table provided by Kāinga Ora.
