Hon Damien O'Connor to the Minister for Land Information: How many of the 230 overseas investment transactions granted consent by LINZ in the 2025/26 financial year are subject to ongoing conditions or monitoring requirements, and what enforcement action, if any, has LINZ taken against overseas investors for non-compliance with consent conditions in that financial year?

Mike Butterick: Corrected reply: [Reply corrected on 11 August 2026] All consents granted were subject to conditions and monitoring. 19 enforcement actions were taken relating to non-compliance with consent conditions in the 2025/26 financial year; eight disposals of property, eight compliance letters advising of the expectation under the Overseas Investment Act, and three variations of conditions of consent to remedy non-compliance.
